PANAJI: In a significant move to honour the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Goa government has allocated a 2,140 square metre plot of land and sanctioned ₹10 crore for the construction of Ambedkar Bhavan.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the
foundation stone for the building will be laid within the next six months.
Sawant assured that the project will be completed within the tenure of the current government. The Bhavan is expected to serve as a cultural and educational hub dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals and contributions.
“This is a long-pending demand, and we are committed to delivering it,” Sawant said, adding that the government is working to ensure timely execution of the project.
The upcoming Ambedkar Bhavan is likely to include spaces for seminars, exhibitions, and community activities aimed at promoting social justice and equality.
