SANKHALI: A 40-year-old housewife from Gokulwadi, Sanquelim was duped of over ₹44,000 by fraudsters posing as TATA SKY officials.
According to the complaint lodged by Anusha W/o Shrikant Wadkar, the accused, using mobile numbers 9163305970 and 7865870394, contacted her between the night of June 18 and morning of June 19, 2025, claiming to be a TATA SKY representative. Under the pretext of initiating a recharge pack, the caller convinced her to share her banking credentials.
The fraudster then deceitfully transferred ₹44,340.76 from her savings account without her knowledge.
Following the incident, a case was registered at Bicholim Police Station under Bicholim PS Cr No: 87/2025, under Sections 318(2), 318(3), and 318(4) read with Section 319(2) of the BNS, 2023. PSI Rashmir Parab Matonkar is investigating the matter.
