Margao – Deeply pained by the passing away of veteran Goan Tulsidas Sakharam Malkarnekar. His contribution to Co-operative movement in Goa will always be remembered by generations to come.
He was awardee “Goa Sahakar Shree” for his contribution in Co-operative sector.
He was the member of Congress Seva Dal and also member of All India Congress Committee. He has contributed to Goa Liberation movement. He was active participant in Quit India Movement and was jailed for 9 days in 1942 alongwith Aruna Asaf Ali.
He was founder member of various institutions in Co-operative sector including Madgaum Urban Co-operative Bank, Goa Co-operative marketting & supply federation, Goa State Co-operative Bank etc.
He was also the founder member of Goa Patrakar Sangh and was associated with various institutions like Gomant Vidya Niketan and others.
