PANAJI: Minister for Water Resource Department, Subhash Shirodkar inaugurated the Mega Apprentice Enrolment Camp under Goa Chief Minister Apprenticeship Policy for students and unemployed youths today at Ganeshotsav Mandap Hall, Shiroda.
Speaking on the occassion WRD Minister said that 15 July will be celebrated as National Apprenticeship Day and Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modiji has decided to provide apprenticeship to students and unemployed youths all over India.
“Our Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has taken this initiative with great courage to provide 10,000 youths with apprenticeship in Government and Private sector for a period of one year and the apprenticeship contract may increase for another one year, if needed. I hereby request the students and educated unemployed youths to enroll themselves into this Mega Apprenticeship camp and avail the jobs that will be assigned to them”, he added.
He further stated that under the Apprenticeship enrolment policy the students passing out from 5th to 10th standard will be paid a stipend of Rs.8,000/-, school pass out upto 12th standard will be paid a stipend of 10,000/-, technician apprentice will be paid a stipend of 12,000/- and graduate apprentice will be paid stipend of 13,000/-.
The other dignitaries present at the inaugural were ZP Member Shri. Narayan Kamat, Panch Member Smt. Pallavi Shirodkar, Dr. Gauri Shirodkar and Vinayak Naik & others. The students participated in large numbers for this Mega camp.
