Quepem: Quepem Police have registered a case of cheating following a complaint lodged by Prayuj Velip, a resident of Cusmone, Quepem, alleging that he was duped of ₹5 lakh on the pretext of purchasing a 3D wall painting machine.
According to the complaint, between March 25, 2025, and June 9, 2025, at TNK, the accused persons, identified as Anjali Dubla, proprietor of Anjali Machinery (address not known), and Anilbhai Parale (address not known), allegedly dishonestly induced the complainant by falsely claiming that they were authorised dealers of 3D wall painting machines.
The accused reportedly displayed a fake demonstration of the machinery through a video call involving a factory sales executive from China, thereby gaining the trust of the complainant.
Believing the representations to be genuine, the complainant transferred ₹3 lakh on March 25, 2025, as a booking amount and subsequently paid another ₹2 lakh on June 9, 2025, towards GST and customs duty through RTGS from The Quepem Urban Co-operative Society Ltd. into the account of Anjali Machinery Hub. However, the accused failed to deliver the promised machinery.
Police have registered the case in this connection. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Digamber Bondre of Quepem Police Station.
