PANAJI: Minister For Road, Transport and Highways (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari today announced that Rs 747 crore has been sanctioned for 4 lanong of NH-66 from Margao Bypass to Cuncolim.
“We are delighted to announce the sanctioning of ₹747 crore for the development of a 7.24 km stretch from the end of Margao bypass to Cuncolim on NH-66,” said Gadkari
He further said that this highway project, approved under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), includes the construction of a 4.45 km six-lane flyover designed to alleviate urban congestion and enhance road safety.
This stretch in Salcete Taluka is forming a vital part of the Mumbai–Kanyakumari 4/6-lane corridor, connects Margao and Cuncolim while passing through Navelim, Dramapur, Sirlim, Chinchinim, and Panzarconi.
“It is a crucial link connecting Margao and Salcete Taluka to further South of Goa and is expected to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety, and lower accident rates in South Goa District,” he added
