ANJUNA: In the past five months or so, the North District Police have filed 11 noise pollution complaints against different establishments.
Regarding noise pollution standards, the action complies with the rulings of the Bombay High Court in Goa.
Akshat Kaushal, the Superintendent of Police (North Goa), claimed that in order to reduce infractions, they have been rigorously following the rules, making sure that loud music is not played after 10 p.m.
Since October 2024, the following individuals have been booked for the infraction in the drive: Thalasha Cliff in Vagator; Novah Goa Restaurant in Hotel “W” Goa (two incidents); Sanngra Spanish Tapus and Music and Diaz Pool Club & Barin in Anjuna; and Thalasa, Wadi Siolim.
North Goa District Police take Strict Action Against Noise Pollution, From October onwards, 11 cases have been registered against various establishments.
In strict compliance with the directions issued by the High Court of Bombay at Goa regarding Noise Pollution, Goa Police has been constantly taking action against violators.
All Police Stations have been directed to maintain strict vigilance on establishments to ensure that no loud music is played beyond 10 p.m. Any violations of these directives have been met with firm legal action, with cases being booked against offenders under the relevant provisions of the law.
