Panaji: Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, asserting that the Central government has delivered an “11-year corruption-free administration.”
Speaking on the occasion of the Modi-led government completing 11 years at the Centre, Sawant said, “There has not been a single allegation of corruption against the Prime Minister in all these years. This is a testimony to the clean and transparent governance the country has witnessed under his leadership.”
When questioned about recent corruption-related remarks reportedly made by Goa Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, Sawant sought to downplay the issue.
“I will explain to you. The government is promoting good governance, digital governance. We have sought an explanation if anybody has said anything on this. But till date, our government has been providing good administration to the people of the state,” the Chief Minister said.
Sawant reiterated that both the Centre and the state have remained committed to transparency, citizen-centric policies, and clean governance practices.
The remarks come amid ongoing political murmurs triggered by Gaude’s statements, which some interpreted as indirectly pointing fingers at alleged irregularities within the Goa administration. However, the Chief Minister’s response indicates an attempt to maintain unity within the cabinet and uphold the broader image of the Modi government’s anti-corruption plank.
