ZUARINAGAR: A tragic incident was reported at Zuarinagar, Sancoale, when a 12-year-old boy, Mast. Mustagahmed Suranagi, lost his life due to electrocution at his residence.
According to Verna police, the boy was attempting to retrieve a ball that had rolled under a refrigerator when he came into contact with live electricity. He collapsed immediately and stopped responding. Family members rushed him to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Cansaulim, where the medical officer declared him brought dead.
Police said the boy, a resident of Zuarinagar and originally from Haveri, Karnataka, died accidentally while playing at home. Following the incident, Verna police conducted a scene panchanama of the unnatural death and preserved the body at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for inquest panchanama and medico-legal formalities.
A case of unnatural death has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Rajdatt Arsekar of Verna Police Station under the supervision of PI Anand Shirodkar and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
