BAMBOLIM: A 14-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run accident near the GMC Quarters at Bambolim last month after being struck by an unidentified car.
According to police, the incident occurred on September 13, 2025, around 12:55 p.m., when an unknown driver of a white car (registration number and make not known) drove rashly and negligently while proceeding from GMC Bambolim towards Siridao.
As the vehicle reached near the GMC Quarters, it knocked down a pedestrian, identified as Digant Malgaonkar (14), a resident of GMC Quarters Complex, Bambolim. The boy fell on the road and sustained bodily injuries.
The driver fled the scene without stopping to provide medical aid or informing the police.
A complaint in the matter was lodged by Head Constable Sudesh Mangadkar (HC-7040) of Agacaim Police Station, and an offence has been registered against the unknown accused driver for rash and negligent driving and failure to render assistance to the injured.
Further investigation is in progress to identify and trace the vehicle involved.
