MANGOR: Vasco police have registered a case of kidnapping following the alleged abduction of a 16-year-old boy from Mangor Hill on the evening of May 24. The incident reportedly took place around 4:00 pm.
The complaint was lodged by Suman Devi Thakur, a resident of Vasco, who informed police that her minor son was taken away from her lawful guardianship by an unknown individual. The identity and motive of the alleged abductor are yet to be determined.
Based on the complaint, police have registered an offence under Section 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, pertaining to kidnapping, and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act, which deals with the protection of minors.
The investigation is currently underway and is being led by PSI Mayur K. Sawant of Vasco Police Station, under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and the overall guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
