VALPOI:17 people from 2 groups booked for alleged unauthorised entry at Jalvani waterfall under Mhadai wildlife sanctuary.
As per information, two cases registered against visitors who visited Jalvani Waterfall without any authorisation which comes under the category of High risk waterfall of Madei Wildlife Sanctuary and the same is presently banned for the general public considering risk.
Total 17 individuals from two groups are booked under section 27 of wildlife protection act 1972 at Madei wildlife sanctuary for unauthorised entry into a high risk waterfall.
The one group is led by Pratik S. Bandwadikar & Amit M. Lohar both Rio Belguam; whereas other group lead by Vijay Kumar Vankou Rio Raichur & Shivraj Budihal Rio Nargindi. Drone used for photography & videography at the sanctuary area without valid permits is seized.
Under guidance of Range Forest Officer Madei Wildlife Sanctuary two team one lead by Round Forester Shablo Kopardekar and other by Forest Guard Videsh Gawas with assistance of Suryakant Gaonkar Manoj Gawas, Namdev Gaonkar,Gopal Gawes, Sanjay Gaonkar, Govind Gaonkar Subhash Naik and Chidambar Gaonkar successfully caught 17 number of individuals
The Forest Department is keeping close watch on such unauthorised entry and necessary action will be taken up
