VASCO: The Vasco railway police seized 179 kgs of beef from the parcel section of Vasco railway station. The beef, packed in boxes, was being transported from Delhi to Goa via the Goa Express train.
The consignment was traced to Jabbar Noosahmed Sidnur, 33, a resident of Aquem Margao, who has been detained for further investigation. The police are probing the illegal shipment, which is suspected to be linked to preparations ahead of Eid celebrations on Monday.
Authorities are investigating the source and destination of the consignment to understand the full extent of the operation. No further details have been disclosed as the probe is ongoing.
