BENAULIM: An 18-month-old girl tragically died after coming into contact with a live wire while playing with other children outside her rented room in Benaulim.
According to police sources, the switchboard in the room was open. The family originally from Jharkhand, had recently moved to Benaulim, where they were staying in rented accommodation.
The father was working as a labourer in the area, said Colva police, who rushed to the scene.
The child, after coming into contact with the live wire, was found unconscious. She was taken to the South Goa District Hospital for treatment, but despite efforts by the doctors to revive her, she was declared dead.
