PANAJI: Old Goa Police registered an Unnatural Death case late Saturday night after an 18-year-old waiter was found hanging in the bathroom of his accommodation near Sambhar Restaurant at Kadamba Plateau. Police received a call at around 11:23 pm from Shaun Araujo, owner of Sambhar Restaurant, informing that the staffer, Jaya Malik, son of Sania Malik and a native of Gajapati district, Odisha, had allegedly died inside the flat located next to the restaurant where he stayed. Police conducted a scene of occurrence panchanama in the presence of two respectable panch witnesses, after which the body was shifted to the GMC Morgue at Bambolim for preservation. Efforts are underway to contact the deceased’s family. Further inquiry is being carried out by LPSI Laureen Sequeira.
