BICHOLIM: Acting on prior intelligence, the Bicholim Police conducted a narcotics raid near the railway track at Shirgao late Tuesday night and arrested a 19-year-old youth for possessing ganja.
According to a complaint lodged by PSI Appa Shinde of Bicholim Police Station, the raid was conducted between 8:37 pm on June 17 and 3:13 am on June 18. During the operation, the accused, identified as Harshadeep Deepak Ghanekar, a resident of Poira-Mayem, Bicholim, was found in possession of 29 grams of suspected ganja worth approximately ₹2,900.
The contraband was seized on the spot and the accused was taken into custody. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, police informed.
