Chandel: A 19-year-old youth from Sindhudurg district lost his life in a road accident on Sunday evening after his two-wheeler crashed into a tree at Tamlar, Chandel.
According to police reports, the deceased, identified as Rushikesh Dalvi, son of Bapuji Dalvi, and a resident of Fojarwadi, Sawantwadi (Sindhudurg), was riding from Hassapur towards Hali Road when the accident occurred at around 4:45 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Dalvi lost control of his vehicle and rammed into a banyan tree, sustaining grievous injuries. He was immediately shifted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Casarvarnem, where the on-duty doctor declared him brought dead.
Further investigation into the case (MV Accident No. 13/2025) is being carried out by PSI Viraj Sawant.
