ANJUNA: A 19-year-old housekeeping attendant working at a Vagator hotel died on Tuesday evening after allegedly falling into a trench while on duty.
Anjuna Police said they received a call from St. Anthony Hospital, Anjuna, at around 7:48 pm on December 10, informing them that Midul Miah (19), originally from Nakair, Fulbari, Gangarampur, Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal, and residing at Vagator Downtown Hotel, had been brought in an unconscious condition following a fall from height. He later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
During preliminary enquiry, the deceased’s cousin Rased Ali informed police that Midul had been working as a housekeeping attendant at Vagator Downtown Hotel for the past three months. Around 7:10 pm, while on duty, he reportedly fell inside a trench from a height within the hotel premises.
In connection with the incident, police registered Anjuna P.S. U.D. No. 59/2025 under Section 194 of the BNSS. Police later visited the scene, conducted a Scene of Unnatural Death Panchanama, and shifted the body to GMC Morgue, Bambolim.
Arrangements are underway to conduct a post-mortem examination. Further investigation is in progress.
