PANAJI: In light of the state’s continuing cash-for-job fraud, the Goa Staff Selection Commission will soon begin advertising for 1,925 open positions in various government agencies.
According to officials on Sunday, the Education Department has posted 36 openings for qualified English teachers so far this year through the Staff Selection Commission, and the chosen applicants have already been offered positions. For the 36 positions posted in the education department, 1,540 applications were received.
The Commission advertised 33 positions in 2023. A computer-based recruitment exam was used to choose the candidates. For the 33 positions that were posted, including network engineer, laboratory technician, librarian, assistant sub-inspector, technician, etc., the Staff Selection Commission got 2,059 applications in total.
Every department must submit a recruitment request once a year in January, in accordance with the rules established last year to oversee the hiring procedure. The Commission then reviews the requisitions and starts the hiring procedure.
The Commission posts the results on its website 24 hours after the CBT, and the question paper and the candidate’s response are made available in the candidate’s login the same day or the following day.
Candidates have three days to file complaints with the Commission, and on the fourth day following the test, the complaints are forwarded to specialists for review.
Following receipt of the comments, the Commission considers the complaints and, on the eighth day of the test, announces the outcome. The following day, the Commission meets to suggest applicants for the positions, and the recommendations are forwarded to the relevant departments. Within two weeks, the full hiring procedure is finished.
