CANACONA: Two car occupants were injured in a self-accident on old NH-66 road at Tamnem-Loliem in Canacona on Monday evening.
According to sources, a Car bearing registration number GA-08 N1380 coming from Poinguinim was proceeding towards Maxem-Loliem, when the driver reportedly lost control and the Car hit a road side tree trunk head-on and turned turtle.
The two occupants including the driver injured and caught up inside the Car were later pulled out by the locals who came rushing the site on hearing the sound of the self-accident. According to sources, while the person driving the Car had some minor injuries, the co-occupant sitting on the side seat and reportedly not wearing the safety-belt got badly injured with injuries to his head after the Car hit the tree and turned down on one-side.
The locals after requisitioning 108 emergency services, shifted both the injured to CHC Canacona, before both were transferred to SGDH Margao.
