MARGAO: A 20-year-old youth from Loliem, Canacona, died in a road accident at Repravaddo, Varca, on the night of September 24.
The deceased has been identified as Bliston Nelviton Martins. Police said Martins was proceeding on his scooter from Fatrade, Varca, towards Margao when he lost control of the vehicle near Axis Bank at Repravaddo and fell on the road, sustaining serious bleeding injuries.
He was shifted to South Goa District Hospital, Margao, by a 108 Ambulance, where the medical officer declared him brought dead at around 9:15 pm.
Police conducted an inquest panchanama, and the body was referred for post-mortem examination. The autopsy report certified the cause of death as “craniocerebral damage with damage to chest consequent to blunt force impact.”
The body was later handed over to the family for final rites. Further enquiry is being conducted by LPSI Varshda Naik Dessai of Colva Police Station.
