Margao: A 23-year-old man was found dead in an alleged by hanging at his residence in Margao, police said.
According to police, information was received at around 2.24 am on January 22, 2026, from the casualty police of South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, stating that Anudeen Husen (23), a resident of Gogal Housing Board, Margao, and a native of Uttar Pradesh, was brought dead to the hospital as a case of hanging.
During enquiry, police visited SGDH Margao and it was revealed that the incident occurred on January 21, 2026, between 10 pm and 11 pm. The deceased allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to a ceiling fan using a dupatta and a leather belt inside the bedroom of his residence.
The dead body has been preserved at SGDH Margao for further medico-legal formalities. Further investigation in the case is being carried out by PSI Sukhada Prabhudessai of Fatorda Police Station.
