CANACONA: Around 257 class-4 students from Canacona taluka answered the aptitude test for Pradnya Shodh, the examination for the Incentive Scholarship Scheme conducted by the State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) at Canacona on Sunday.
This examination was conducted by Canacona ADEI on Sunday, April 23, from 10 am to 12 am in Government Higher Secondary School, Mastimoll, Canacona. Students who pass this examination will get Rs.2000 per annum till passing the class 10th examination.
Students who have scored 60% and above marks in the first terminal examination of Std. IV are eligible to answer the qualifying examination. (Relaxation of 5% for the candidates belonging to Reserved Category),
This exam is held for students from rural and urban areas, and 40 eligible students from rural (23) and urban (17) areas will get this scholarship from Canacona taluka.
While 10 and 04 children from the general group in rural and Urban areas will get selected, 4 and 3 children of landless labourers, 4 each (4 Rural, 4-Urban) children for other backward classes, 02 and 01 child from scheduled castes, again 02 and 01 children from scheduled tribes, 1 child and 4 children living in slums will get this scholarship.
The question paper of the qualifying examination (Total 100 marks) consists of three subjects viz.
Language (Marathi/Konkani/Urdu), Mathematics & Environmental Studies.
In Canacona, this exam is being conducted under the guidance of Canacona Divisional Education Officer – Ashok Gavas Desai.
In the meantime, the Entrance Examination at Jawahar Navodeya Vidyalaya, Canacona, will be held in Government Higher Secondary School, Mastimoll, on April 29 between 10 am to 12 am, and a total of 143 students from Canacona taluka are likely to appear for this examination. Only the Class –V students taking admission to Class VI are eligible for this exam, and the students who pass this exam will be eligible for free education till class 12 of CBSE Board at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya.
