OLD GOA: A 26-year-old resident of Hillside Enclave, Alto Bambolim, was brought dead to the Goa Medical College (GMC) on Wednesday night, following which Old Goa Police registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case.
According to a wireless message received from GMC at 9:25 pm, the patient, Kevin Jonathan D’Mello (26), was declared brought dead at the casualty ward under MLC No. 25/18136. Old Goa Police subsequently registered UD No. 66/2025.
Police contacted the deceased’s father, Zelio S. D’Mello of Hillside Enclave, Santa Cruz, who informed that his son had been suffering from severe depression and anxiety.
A team led by LPSI Jasvita Naik visited the residence. Preliminary inquiry indicated that the young man had taken the extreme step while at home. Family members immediately alerted emergency services and shifted him to GMC in an ambulance, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police conducted the scene of occurrence panchanama in the presence of witnesses. Further medico-legal formalities and inquiries are being carried out by LPSI Jasvita Naik.
