PANAJI: A 27-year-old Krishna Talwar, a driver by profession and a resident of Bogmalo met a watery grave on Wednesday evening.
According to information from the Verna police station, the deceased Talwar had gone to Velsao Beach along with his wife Monica Talwar at around 6 pm.
Inquiries revealed that while they were on the beach, the deceased suspected and felt that someone was drowning and ventured inside the sea. Since the sea was rough, the deceased got pulled deep in the seawater at Velsao Beach.
The locals present at the beach tried to rescue the deceased but failed. Later the elder brother of the deceased arrived on the spot and pulled the deceased out of the sea and tried to revive him but the deceased was unresponsive.
The deceased was further taken to PHC Cansaulim where he was declared brought dead.
The body was preserved at the New Hospicio hospital morgue.
Verna police had registered a case of unnatural death under section 174 CrPC and further investigation is on.
