Bicholim: A 28-year-old woman from Bicholim has succumbed to head injuries sustained after a fall in her bathroom last month, police said.
According to information received at around 5.52 pm from the Casualty Police of GMC Bambolim, 28 girl, expired while undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim. She was admitted in Ward No. 108 under MLC No. 25/11219 dated November 26, 2025.
Police inquiry revealed that on December 26, 2025, at around 9.30 am, the victim had gone to take a bath in the bathroom attached to her house when she accidentally slipped on the smooth tiled surface. She fell in a supine position, sustaining severe head injuries to the back of her head and became unconscious. She was immediately referred to GMC Bambolim for treatment.
Police stated that throughout her admission at GMC Bambolim, the victim was unfit to give her statement. Despite prolonged medical treatment, she eventually succumbed to her injuries.
During the course of the investigation, PSI Shridhar Kamat of Bicholim Police Station visited GMC Bambolim and conducted an inquest panchanama over the deceased’s body. The body was later subjected to post-mortem examination. As per the autopsy report, the cause of death was stated as “head injury consequent to blunt force impact by surface or object.”
After the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family for last rites. Further investigation in the case is in progress with PSI Shridhar Kamat of Bicholim Police Station.
