OLD GOA: Three people from Maharashtra have been arrested by the Old Goa Police for allegedly stealing gold chains valued at Rs 1.28 lakhs from youngsters at the Old Goa feast market.
Ramdas Jadhav, Arun Jadhav, and Yuvraj Pawar, all of whom reside in Sangli, Miraj, have been named as the accused.
Police claim that in the first incident, which happened on December 8, Nitesh Mayekar from Bicholim filed a complaint alleging that the accused stole gold chains from his children, weighing around 3.1 and 8 grams and totaling Rs 95,000, when he was there for the feast.
In the second instance, a Ponda resident named Chandresh Naik filed a complaint alleging that the accused and an unnamed woman stole a gold chain from his kid that weighed about 5 grams and was valued at Rs 33,500 at the feast fair close to Old Goa Church. Chandresh and his family had traveled to Old Goa for the feast fair.
