PANAJI: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has confirmed that the three Pakistani nationals who were in the state on a short-term visa have exited Goa. Acting on his instructions, the state police have launched a combing operation to identify and take action against individuals residing in the state without valid authorization.
Sawant stated that the collected data from the ongoing checks will be submitted to him by Sunday evening.
The crackdown follows a directive from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who instructed all Chief Ministers to ensure that no Pakistani citizens overstay their permitted time in India.
In a related development, CM Sawant, responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address, expressed his support for the PM’s firm stance against terrorism. Posting on social media, Sawant noted that the PM reiterated his resolve to bring terrorists and their supporters to justice, emphasizing that the entire nation stands united behind the victims and their families.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the Prime Minister’s praise for India’s space achievements and the tribute paid to the late Dr. K. Kasturirangan, former ISRO chairman and a key figure in the formulation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Additionally, Sawant mentioned the PM’s emphasis on preparedness for natural disasters and the utility of the National Disaster Management Authority’s Sachet App in safeguarding lives and property.
