CANACONA: House-keys of 30 more new houses built by the dedicated 1000 shram-dham registered warriors (volunteers) under Ramesh Tawadkar ‘s record breaking ‘Shram-Dham’ initiative, an overwhelming social concept will be made over to the beneficiaries in the State of Goa in a Shram-Dham melava to be held on 23 August.
“We have a band of 1000 registered volunteers tirelessly and selflessly working to build the Shram–Dham houses and for the last one and a half year we had already built 40 houses and made over these 40 house-keys to the beneficiaries under our Shram-Dham concept. On 23rd August, we, with the overwhelming works taken up by our strong pose of shram-dham warriors are completing 30 more houses and these house-keys will be given to the respective beneficiaries in a Shram-Dham melava to be held on 23rd August. These 30 new houses will be at State-level. With this we will be completing 70 houses in two years under the Shram–Dham initiative, since this unprecedented social concept was launched under Balram Charitable Trust 2 years ago to provide proper roof-over-head (houses) to the needy.’
Answering a pertinent question if Wayand houses are also completed, Tawadkar informed ‘Wayand shram-dham house are not included in this 30 newly built houses to be made over on 23rd August. There are a few technical glitches cropped up in building Wayand houses and that will be cleared very soon. As of now, Wayand houses are not included in these 30 upcoming shram-dham houses.’
It may be recalled that GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar has announced in one of the Goa assembly Session, that houses will be built under the Shram –Dham concept to the landslide and flood affected victims of Wayanad (Karala) and had later with the active cooperation of Governor of Kerala Rajendra Arlekar had visited the sites in Wayanad and also conducted the survey to build new houses to the victims under Shram-Dham concept.
