PONDA: Alleging that they are harassed for petty reasons, around 300 workers of a lift manufacturing company at Khandepar today boycotted work in protest against harassment by management.
The workers said they are issued frequent memos, and fines are cut from salaries on one or other pretext, thus harassed.
They are given one apron, which the company do not allow them to wash, forcing them to use dirty aprons.
If they carry an apron home for washing, they are fined. Further, they are also not allowed to keep mobile with them.
The workers urged the owner and HR team to find a solution to the problem.
The strike was withdrawn after three hour-long discussions with management. The eight demands were agreed to be fulfiled by the management
