SATTARI: A 33-year-old man from Bhuipal, Sattari, died after accidentally falling from the first floor of a house under construction on Wednesday.
Police said they received a call at 4:38 pm from the Medical Officer at CHC Sankhalim, informing that Baburao Navnath Zore, a resident of Bhedshiwada, Bhuipal, had been brought dead as a case of fall from height.
PSI Sohan Malik visited CHC Sankhalim and spoke to the relatives of the deceased. According to them, Baburao had gone to his relative’s house at Bedashi, Bhuipal, where construction work was underway. He reportedly went to the first floor to check the progress of the work and speak to the labourers. While stepping back from the edge, he is said to have lost balance and fallen to the ground.
He was initially taken to CHC Valpoi, and later referred to GMC Bambolim, but his condition deteriorated on the way, prompting the family to take him to CHC Sankhalim, where he was declared brought dead.
Family members told police they do not suspect any foul play in the incident.
The body has been sent to GMC Bambolim for preservation and medico-legal procedures. Further inquiry is being carried out by PSI Sohan Malik of Valpoi Police Station.
