PANAJI: Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has communicated to the Goa government that the 37th National Games would be tentatively held from October 25 to November 9.
“It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that the preparations for the 37th National Game 2023 to be held in Goa are progressing very well. The IOA Team is in close coordination with the Government of Goa to prepare the Games to be held in October & November 2023,” said Amitabh Sharma, Chairman GTCC, IOA.
Sharma said that IOA would like to inform that the tentative dates for the 37th National Games are from October 25 until November 9 2023.
“A detail scheduled shall be shared shortly upon its finalization. I would like to request the participating National Sports Federation to block their sporting calendar during this period and to ensure the participation of their Top Athletes/ Teams in this mega event,” he added.
Sharma said that the Indian Olympic Association, along with the /government of Goa, is looking forward to a grand sporting spectacle during the 37th National Games in Goa, where as a first, a record number of 43 sporting disciplines shall be participating.
The traditional game of Gatka is set to receive a major boost on a national level as it has been officially included in the 37th National Games-2023, which are scheduled to take place in Goa in October of this year.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will be organizing competitions for 43 disciplines during this national event in collaboration with the Government of Goa.
