PANAJI: The State intends to encourage and carry out the solarization of agricultural pumps, with the goal of converting 38,000 pumps to solar-based systems by 2050, according to Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Shripad Naik on Tuesday.
During a 100-day awareness and outreach program valedictory event at Panjim, which involved 100 KVKs nationwide, Naik stated that this was part of the goal to make Goa the State with the lowest energy footprint in India by 2050.
The event was attended by Suman Chandra, Director of MNRE, Government of India; Ajay Yadav, Joint Secretary, MNRE, Government of India; and Ramakrishna “Sudin” Dhavalikar, Minister for New and Renewable Energy.
Dhavalikar commended Naik for his earnest attempts to assist in the more efficient execution of the PM-KUSUM initiative in Goa. He expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister for his unwavering support. Yadav spoke on this occasion as well.
Farmers were given comprehensive information about PM-KUSUM and its components throughout the event. The master trainer delivered the instruction in the local tongue. To address the concerns raised by the farmers about the installation of the solar power plant under the program, hold sessions were conducted. In the end, farmers’ input was also gathered, and the relevant data on Component A of the plan was supplied.
Dhavalikar praised Naik for his sincere efforts to help the PM-KUSUM initiative in Goa be carried out more effectively. He conveyed his appreciation to the Union Minister for his steadfast assistance. On this occasion, too, Yadav spoke.
Throughout the session, farmers received thorough information about PM-KUSUM and its constituent parts. The teaching was given in the local language by the master trainer. Hold sessions were held in order to address the farmers’ concerns over the program’s solar power plant installation. Ultimately, farmers’ feedback was also collected, and pertinent information on Component A of the plan was provided.
