SANGOLDA: The Crime Branch Police Station registered Crime No. 04/2026 under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, 1985, in the early hours of January 29, 2026, following a narcotic raid in Bardez.
As per police sources, the case was registered at 5.06 am on the basis of a state complaint filed by PI Manguesh Valvaikar of Crime Branch Police Station, Ribandar. Acting on specific information, the Crime Branch conducted a narcotic raid between 11.22 pm on January 28 and 3.20 am on January 29 at House No. 422, Montevilla, Sangolda, Bardez.
During the raid, the accused Houston Rodrigues, son of George Rodrigues, was caught red-handed in his room while allegedly in illegal possession of a blue polythene bag containing greenish flowering and fruiting tops of a plant suspected to be ganja, weighing 4.052 kilograms.
Police said the seized contraband and other articles are valued at approximately ₹4.50 lakh in the international market.
The seizure was carried out under a search and seizure panchanama, strictly following Supreme Court guidelines.
The accused was placed under arrest at 5.06 am on January 29, 2026.
