PANAJI: 4.68,667 people in Goa have been fully vaccinated as per the data released by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Goa.
The information reveals that 6,91,748 people in Goa have received their first dose while 4.68,667 got their second dose taking the total tally 16,29,082 till September 8.
The country has administered more than 71,65,97,428 Vaccine doses as of September 8.
On September 8, 9,718 people were vaccinated across Goa which includes first and second doses combined.
The Health Department has that 7,24, 320 doses are available with the state as of September 8 of the 22,30, 570 total doses allocated to the state.
Vaccination is an integral pillar of the comprehensive strategy of the Government of India for containment and management of the pandemic, along with Test, Track, Treat and COVID Appropriate Behaviour. Implementation of the Liberalized and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination has started from May 1 2021.
The state government has set October 31 as the date wherein the entire eligible population is expected to be fully vaccinated.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed that around 20% of the eligible population has not taken the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“We have got the data that around 20 per cent of the eligible population has not taken their second dose; I urge these people to kindly contact the health centres and get themselves fully vaccinated,” CM Sawant had said.
