Aldona: Four people have been arrested by the Mapusa Police for allegedly stealing electrical wires, and two trucks loaded with underground cable worth lakhs of rupees have been seized.
The defendants are Firoz Abdul Rahim Khan (19) from Nasik, Maharashtra; Saif Ali Khan (18) from Mushirwado, Colvale; Ramu Nandu Soni (21), from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh; and Mohammad Rehan Ali (19), who was born in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, and is currently residing in Chandwado, Margao.
According to police, the accused were apprehended while attempting to steal numerous advanced subterranean cables that the Electricity Department was installing.
A violation of BNS, 2023, sections 303 (2), 324 (3), and 324 (5) R/w 3 (5).
