CALANGUTE: The tourist security force (TSF) arrested four more people late Monday night for pestering and attempting to defraud tourists in Tito’s alley, Baga, as part of their ongoing campaign against touts in Calangute.
After being turned over to the Calangute Police, the four Karnataka natives—Maruti Rathod, Nagappa Lamani, Akash Rathod, and Ravi Rathod—were fined Rs 5,000 apiece.
According to the police, the TSF also discovered a tourist’s purse on Candolim Beach that had Rs 50,000. After verifying the information, they gave the purse back to the owner. Since the beginning of the new tourist season, about 100 so-called touts have been apprehended after being accused of pestering travelers and providing illegal services.
