PANAJI: Water supply in Goa is set for a major upgrade, with Public Works Minister Subhash Phal Dessai announcing that within six months, 40% of the state’s population will receive an average of 18 hours of water daily. Another 40% will get 12 hours of supply, he said.
Currently, just 24% of households enjoy 24×7 water, 45% receive around eight hours, while 9% get less than four hours. The minister said the government will put 325 MLD of water into circulation soon, ensuring longer and more reliable supply across the state.
Phal Dessai said the initiative is aimed at bridging disparities in distribution and providing a fairer, more dependable water supply system for Goan households.
