Jodhpur: During Operation Sindoor, Pakistan launched 413 drone and missile attacks on Rajasthan’s border districts — Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar — but all were successfully intercepted by India’s air defence systems, according to Border Security Force (BSF) Inspector General (Rajasthan Frontier) ML Garg.
Addressing the media from the BSF headquarters in Jodhpur on Monday, IG Garg highlighted the force’s swift and effective response to the aerial threats during the cross-border hostilities. He said Pakistan’s military targeted sensitive installations, including the Phalodi air base, aiming to inflict damage. However, Indian forces responded with precision and thwarted every attempt.
“None of the drones or missiles reached Indian soil. Our air defence systems neutralised them mid-air before they could cause any harm,” he said. Garg added that any remains found on the ground were just drone debris or empty missile shells, and no functional warhead made impact.
While some homes along the border experienced minor structural damage — such as cracked walls — there were no civilian casualties, a fact he credited to India’s advanced preparations and modern defence capabilities.
During the conflict, senior BSF officers were stationed in border zones to supervise operations and boost morale among local residents. “The presence of senior leadership helped reinforce security and maintain public confidence in our forces,” Garg noted.
Commenting on Pakistan’s military posture, he said their troops were heavily deployed along the border, but “not a single Indian soldier took a step back.” The BSF, he affirmed, stood its ground throughout the operation.
Garg concluded by calling the response a clear demonstration of India’s technological edge and operational readiness in safeguarding its territory and citizens
