Panaji: A total of 45 children found new homes in 2024–25 through the State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) in Goa, under the Child Protection and Rehabilitation Mission Vatsalya. All adoptions were carried out legally and transparently in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), ensuring that the child’s best interests were prioritized at every step.
The initiative reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to guarantee every child a right to love, care, and a secure future. Mission Vatsalya focuses on the rehabilitation and protection of vulnerable children—those who are orphaned, abandoned, or surrendered.
According to Women and Child Development Minister Vishwajit Rane, Goa currently has 83 such children residing in registered Child Care Institutions, where they receive comprehensive care and services aimed at restoring their dignity and well-being.
