BAMBOLIM: A 45-year-old man who was admitted following a fall at his residence succumbed while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital on Monday morning.
Police informed that at around 11:59 am, a wireless message was received from the casualty police at GMC Bambolim stating that Briddhichand Vishuakarma (45), a resident of Ramnagri, San Jose de Areal and a native of Uttar Pradesh, had expired during treatment.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the deceased had reportedly suffered a fall at his residence and was initially taken to South Goa District Hospital, Margao. Considering the seriousness of his condition, he was referred to GMC Bambolim for advanced medical care. However, despite medical efforts, he passed away while undergoing treatment.
Police have preserved the body at GMC Bambolim to conduct medico-legal formalities to ascertain the exact cause of death. Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Praful Giri of Margao City Police Station.
