CANACONA: A female UK national was found dead just close to the Agonda beach-shore inside a private property late Tuesday evening.
Canacona Police haves identified the woman as 45-year-old Emma Louise, an UK National living alone in a rented room on North side of Agonda beach.
While locals expressed suspicion on the death of the woman, Police have ruled out any foul play as the body is shifted to a Morgue in Margao after a close examination by a forensic team visited the site late Tuesday night.
‘There are no body injuries, while the body has insects and Ants bites, no suspicion is suspected, except the possibility of highly intoxication led to the fall and death, even though we expect post-mortem to throw further lights on the cause of death’, informed Canacona PI Chandrakant Gawas, when informed about the signs of blood stains on the body and the suspicious nature of the body.
Gawas further informed that Cash of ₹2000/-, a Mobile, and Driving License were recovered from the body, which led to her identification, and later it is found the woman, a regular visitor to India/Goa for the last 10-12 years was living alone at a rented room near German Bakery in Dhavalkhazan area of Agonda shore.
The body is preserved for the conduct of post-mortem examination, and the the UK Consulate is being approached to intimate to the deceased family back home and for further needful.
After the news broke about a body of a woman lying at one corner of private property behind the Agonda church late Tuesday evening, a Police team reach at the site, did some preliminary examination and waited for the arrival of forensic team especially called to clear some suspicion noticed at the site. According to sources, the Forensic team arrived late a midnight time, and after proper examination, the body was till awaits directions from the body was shifted to Margao Morgue for preservation.
According to sources, a few people taking an evening walk on the Church compound noticed something lying at one corner of the church property towards the beachside, and thinking the object is looking like a plastic heap/bag from the distance , went to have a closer look only to understand that a woman was lying dead. Soon, others were alerted and police were informed about the finding.
