Following protests throughput the State on spike in power bills, the State government on Tuesday decided to waive-off 50 p.c of the fixed charge on electricity bills for the month of April and May.
“The Government has decided to give a total rebate of Rs18.3 crores to Electricity Department consumers. 50% of fixed charges are waived for April and May for all low tension domestic, commercial and other categories,” said a release issued by the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
He said that for High tension consumers the difference of the billed Maximum demand charges and actual recorded maximum demand charges for April and May 2020 are waived.
“The rebate will be adjusted in future bills,” he says.
