ASSAGAO: A 55-year-old man died after accidentally falling into a well at Assagao, Bardez, on Thursday evening.
Police said they received a call around 7:20 pm from the Fire and Emergency Services, Panaji, informing that a person had fallen into a well. The deceased was later identified as Mr. Chakali Balraj, son of Linganna, originally from Mahbubnagar, Andhra Pradesh, and residing at Munnag Vaddo, Assagao.
According to enquiries, Balraj was cutting grass near the well when he accidentally slipped and fell inside. He drowned before help could arrive. His body was retrieved by fire personnel, and the 108 Ambulance services later declared him dead.
Police registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Preliminary investigation suggests no foul play.
