CANACONA: A 59-year-old man committed suicide by hanging to a cashew tree in the Poinguinim forests on Monday evening.
According to sources, deceased Mukund Pagi, 59 a resident of Poinguinim took his life by hanging to a Cashew Tree in the forest cover of the village.
Mukund was living with his only Son after the passing away of his wife a few years ago, is known to be a sober and trouble-free man and devoted between his work and the house. The reason for taking the extreme step is not yet known.
Canacona police reached the spot and conducted the panchanama, with the help of personnel from Fire & Emergency Services, the body was recovered and sent for post-mortem late, Monday evening.
