LUCKNOW: In Lucknow, a 6-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by a car driven by a 21-year-old Class 12 student who was returning from a farewell event. The tragedy unfolded late on Friday evening when the child was crossing the road in the city’s Alambagh area.
According to police, the teenager was riding in the car after attending a farewell celebration for his classmates when the incident occurred. The vehicle hit the young boy, who was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, the child succumbed to his injuries.
Witnesses said the impact was severe, and residents gathered at the scene as news spread. The driver was immediately taken into custody by local police, who registered a case in connection with the accident. Law enforcement officials said they are investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision, including whether speed or loss of control played a role.
Family members of the boy were distraught and demanded strict action against the driver.
