PANAJI: The 3rd Empowered Committee Meeting of Coding and Robotics Education in Schools (CARES) Scheme was held today under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
The Committee deliberating at the meeting decided that 60 schools, all over the State, were selected as Lead Schools towards delivering Advanced Curriculum under the CARES scheme.
It was also informed that the TFG fellows who are graduates or post-graduates in Engineering and allied Computer Science domains would deliver the advanced curriculum.
The delivery of the curriculum has been approved to start in mid-November 2022. 5940 students from the State would undergo the advanced curriculum in the Lead Schools. The delivery of the ICT equipment for up gradation of the school ICT laboratory has commenced. As of date, 600 ICT equipment have been delivered to the 60 Lead Schools as part of Phase 01.
It was also decided that in the next phase of ICT equipment delivery, 3700 ICT equipment would be supplied to the remaining 375 Govt & Govt. Aided Schools in the State. As part of the training, the Empowered Committee approved the TFG-Fellows to undergo training in the State and in the institutes of national importance.
To boost the talent and interest of school students, the Empowered Committee also approved State Level student hackathons and other competitions during the current academic year.
WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar, Advocate General Devidas Pangam; Director of Technical Education Dr. Vivek B. Kamat, members of the Committee and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
Thereafter the, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, along with Minister for IT Shri Rohan Khaunte, attended a presentation on setting up Goa Drone Manufacturing Hub at Electronics Cluster Park Tuem Pernem. The presentation was conducted by AMOS Group Captain M. J. Augustine Vinod.
The PowerPoint presentation explained various aspects such as logistics, infrastructure, and potential benefits to the Goa government.
Principal Chief Engineer, PWD Uttam Parsekar, Director Transport Rajan Satardekar; Director Department of Science and Environment Shri Levinson Martins; Director PPP Suresh Shanbhogue; Director IT, Pravin Vovotkar; OSD to CM Shri Upendra Joshi, Sqdn. Leader Mrs Varsha Kukreti, Mohan Nadar, Vineet Malaikal, Shri Stany Saldanha, members of AMOS and officials of various other departments were present on occasion.
