Anjuna: Anjuna Police have registered an unnatural death (UD) case after a 60-year-old man was found dead at his residence in Chapora on Monday night.
According to police, Anjuna PS registered UD No. 12/2026 under Section 194 of the BNSS at 10.22 pm on February 10 following a phone call from a local person informing that a dead body was found at House No. 175, Zorwaddo, Chapora, Anjuna, Bardez-Goa.
Police visited the spot and met Ramchandra Babuso Agarwadekar, resident of the same address, who led them inside an under-construction house on the premises. He pointed out a male body found in a sitting position on an office chair and identified the deceased as his elder brother, Agnelo Bunty Cardozo (60), resident of H. No. 175, Zorwaddo, Chapora, Anjuna.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the deceased had been residing alone in the under-construction house for the past 13 years.
Police conducted a scene of occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama. The body has been preserved at the GMC Morgue, Bambolim, for medico-legal formalities.
Police stated that no foul play is suspected at this stage. Further inquiry is being carried out by Investigating Officer PSI Ramesh Harijan.
