PANAJI: A 60-year-old woman suffered grievous injuries after being struck by a speeding motorcycle at Bambolim last month. Agacaim Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the motorcyclist.
In a complaint lodged on behalf of the State, HC Ulhas Gaonkar of Agacaim Police Station reported that on 14 October 2025 at around 9:30 am, the accused rider Ramu Jaigadi (47), a resident of Bhatlem–Panaji, was riding a TVS Star City (GA-07-B-4054) towards Margao.
When he reached opposite Holy Cross Church, Bambolim, Jaigadi allegedly rode at high speed and hit a pedestrian, Nilima Parab (60), a resident of Kumbharjua, who was crossing the road at the time. The impact caused her to fall and sustain grievous injuries. The rider also suffered minor injuries.
Agacaim Police have registered an offence for rash and negligent driving. Further investigation is underway under HC Ulhas Gaonkar.
