PANAJI: The North Goa District Police intensified its crackdown on nuisance and unlawful activities between September 8 and 14, arresting 66 persons under preventive action.
The drive also saw police take 53 actions against public drinking, register 297 violations under COTPA, and book 116 cases of smoking and spitting in public places. In addition, seven touts were apprehended during the week.
North Goa Superintendent of Police said, “These measures are aimed at ensuring law and order, protecting public health, and curbing nuisance in public spaces. Our teams will continue such sustained drives across the district.”
